United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime

Drugs. Extortion. Trafficking. Three words commonly used to describe the horrors of organized crime. Organized crime functions by insinuating violence withing regions by corruption, extortion, and sex crimes; the list doesn’t end there. Today, nations watch as their civilians continue to be targeted by these criminal groups. As organized crime continues to grow and transcend borders, countries face the challenge of cooperating with one another to be able to combat the rising distress within nations. The militarization of organized crime, corruption of local authorities/offices, illegal substances, as well as human trading, are of the utmost importance for countries to target peace within affected regions.

Delegates will be tasked with confronting the corruption, reforming justice systems, and defining organized crime, to be able to mitigate the devastation upon these communities.

Background Guide will be available this fall!
